Sr. Lucy Rose Ozhukayil, General Councillor of the Salesian Sisters in Rome, was able to participate in another youthful event today, 7 May, this time at the St. Margaret Mary's Parish, Brunswick, VIC on Good Shepherd Sunday, the day the Catholic Church reflects on God's calling and plan for each person. At Brunswick the Salesian Youth Club (SYC) celebrated its 10th year of foundation at a Eucharistic celebration presided by Fr. Anthony Quang sdb and two other Vietnamese Salesian priests. Sr. Lucy was publically welcomed to this youthful celebration. During the Eucharist youth leaders renewed their commitment and others made their first public commitment to lead among their own peers. The Mass was followed by a very well prepared meal and some entertainment by the young people themselves. A celebratory cake topped off everything. The date chosen for this event was that closest to the feast of St. Dominic Savio (6 May) since the patrons of this youth group are Dominic Savio and Blessed Laura Vicuna. The words: Savio and Vicuna are words very commonly spoken by this youth group in conversation and in song!
