Dromana Senior Summer Camp 2017
About 73 young people from various parts of Victoria, Melbourne and 7 young people from Tassie, participated in the senior summer camp at Dromana, efficiently led by about 30 Salesian leaders who brought the usually quiet beach side area of Safety Beach alive with their cheerful, enthusiastic and truly Salesian spirit of joy and youthfulness. The FMA were represented with the presence of our Novices, Salome and Iutita and yours truly. Joan our second year novice participated in the first junior camp and had to return to Sydney, while Salome and Iutita stayed on for the senior camp as well. It was an AWESOME four days where anyone who entered the ground of Don Bosco Camp Dromana, could not help but be caught up in the Salesian Spirit of youthful energy and joy - the spirit of Don Bosco and Mary Mazzarello. Moments of Prayer and Liturgy, Salesian good-nights and good mornings, heaps of singing, chanting, games of various intensities, beach games and amazing and creative activites; brought out the very best in these young people, many of whom came to the camp as strangers and ended up friends for life. Thanks to Steph Wood and Dominic, the camp directors, to our committed leaders, to the young Salesians in formation, and to our two novices for keeping this Salesian Spirit alive in the hearts of these young people. It was a tiring but very fulfilling four days for all concerned. Well done everyone !!!!!!
