New Staff at Salesian College, Sunbury visit FMA Centres in Victoria
Today seven new staff members from Salesian College, Sunbury visited two centres of the Salesian Sisters in Melbourne as part of their orientation and immersion into the Salesian educational system of St. John Bosco and St. Maria Domenica Mazzarello. Today they visited the St. Dominic Savio Early Learning Centre, Clayton and the Province Centre of the Sisters at Scoresby. Yesterday, Monday 3 April, they visited SDB centres at Ascot Vale, Brunswick and Clifton Hill and during the day they reflected on the life and spirituality of Don Bosco and his way of educating boys of his time. Today, at the Province Centre of the Sisters they met the community, had morning tea together and, similar to yesterday, were presented with the life and spirituality of St. Maria Mazzarello and her way of educating girls of her time. However, today they were able to make the connection between the Salesian Fathers and Brothers and the Salesian Sisters through understanding that not until adulthood did the two meet but both were already passionately helping youth in northern Italy to receive an education that would allow them to become ''honest citizens and good Christians'' in their region of the world.
