Young people to the fore

Sr. Rochelle Lamb and Sr. Edna Mary MacDonald of the South Pacific Region (SPR) province joined several other Salesian Sisters from many Asian countries at Yamanaka Ko, Japan, at the foothills of Mt Fuji, from 25 April - 1 May. This meeting was called by Sr. Runita Borja fma, Youth Pastoral Worldwide Co-ordinator of the Salesian Sisters. The main focus of this international gathering was to reflect on the role of the youth ministry co-ordinator in each province in Asia and the Pacific. Through interactive methodological processes and stimulating talks, all were engaged in reflective dialogue on exploring best practice in planning and co-ordinating youth ministry in each province. The sharing of each group's vision and structures that enable the Salesian Sisters to engage in the life of young people in Asia - Pacific was enlightening, creative and inspiring. All were challenged to continue to discover creative and innovative ways of empowering young people to depth their understanding of themselves and outreach to others in an every-changing world.
